THE PROJECT

ONE FESTIVAL.
MANY DIFFERENT
STORIES.

Muncaster Fringe brought together live music, performance, family events and community activity across a range of venues and spaces.

I photographed the programme across multiple days and locations, capturing both the performances themselves and the people, atmosphere and surroundings that gave each event its own character.

The finished collection became a wider visual record of Muncaster Fringe 2026.

ACROSS THE FRINGE

MUSIC.
PERFORMANCE.
PEOPLE.
PLACE.

The programme moved between very different venues, audiences and types of performance — from intimate indoor performances to larger outdoor events.

The photography needed to adapt to each situation while still creating one connected body of work, showing not only what happened on stage but also the people, places and atmosphere around it.

THE APPROACH

MORE THAN
THE PERFORMANCE.

The aim was not simply to photograph what was happening on stage.

Across the Fringe, I looked for the wider story — performers preparing, audiences reacting, people coming together, details within the venues and the moments between the main events.

Together, those photographs help show what the Fringe actually felt like rather than only recording a programme of performances.

SELECTED WORK

IN CONTEXT.

THE RESULT

A VISUAL RECORD
OF THE WHOLE
EXPERIENCE.

The final photography documented more than individual performances. Together, the images show the variety, atmosphere and character of Muncaster Fringe 2026 and create a broad visual record of the completed programme.
